La fête de la chaudière noire
"Chaudière noire" is Louisiana French for "blackpot" and this is our cook-off!
Pretty much everyone loves a good cook-off event, and you know we love our blackpots in Louisiana! After speaking to several families about fundraising events they would enjoy, we decided on going with the majority vote and hosting an annual blackpot cook-off.
Please join us on Saturday, November 2nd, for École Saint-Landry's
2nd Annual Fête de la chaudière noire
at the Sunset Community Center from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please come join in the fun! We'll have different family-friendly activities including games, French language trivia, face-painting, a fun jump and an obstacle course, live music by
Joe Hall & Cedric Watson
The Holiday Playgirls
and more! Tasting tickets will be $10 for 5, and each category will have a public choice prize as well as a judge's choice.

$1000, $500, and $250!
Proceeds from this fundraising event in 2024 will go towards our rennovation of the historic Sunset High building as our future campus, providing modern classrooms in this beautiful building for the future of our students. As one of only three full French immersion schools in all of Louisiana, the significance of being right here in St. Landry Parish, in the cradle of Cajun and Creole culture, is huge.
